Government of Canada invests in New Brunswick Software Company

Bathurst, New Brunswick February 19, 2013

The Provincial and Federal Governments announced that the firm Sentinel Systems Ltd. will be granted financial assistance.

“This investment in Sentinel Systems will create jobs and new growth in the Chaleur region as well as New Brunswick’s information and communications technology industry,” said Premier David Alward. The firm Sentinel Systems Ltd is a privately owned company funded through existing revenues and select private investors.

Sentinel is contributing to frameworks and standards that will shape disaster management in Canada for the next decade. “The support will help us continue our expansion across the country and move us closer to our goal of capturing part of the United States market,” says Denis DesRosiers, CEO.

The firm will be granted financial assistance in the form an investment of $522,966. “We are definitely pleased with the financial and technical support we are receiving from the province and thankful for the confidence that has been placed in our small software company,” said Denis DesRosiers.

Government of Canada Invests in Quebec Printing Company

Montmagny, Quebec February 12, 2013

The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announced that the firm Etiquettes PDF Inc. received financial assistance from the Government of Canada. Etiquettes PDF Inc. will use the financial assistance from the Government of Canada to purchase special technological equipment.

The firm was founded in May 2011 by a group of shareholders from the Montmagny region who decided to expand into the digital printing of self-adhesive and IML labels, a sector offering strong growth potential.

“Our Government of Canada supports the start-up of enterprises that, like Etiquettes PDF Inc., have the potential to create sustainable jobs and further the economic diversification of their regions,” says Minister Lebel.

The firm will be granted financial assisted in the form of a $200,750 repayable contribution.

Government of Canada Invests in Quebec Natural Resources Firm

Victoriaville, Quebec February 05, 2013.

The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announced that the firm Warwick Salt Inc. has been granted financial assistance for the purchase, installation and programming of equipment.

Warwick Salt Inc. was established in 1983, the firm has shown a constant progression over the years, due to the development of solid expertise and excellent partnerships with its various customers. “By helping Warwick Salt acquire leading-edge technology, our Government is once again demonstrating its commitment to investing in projects that ensure economic growth,” said Minister Denis Lebel.

“We have developed a wide range of products meant to meet the highest standards of quality in the industry.” The company will be granted a $1.1 million repayable financial contribution from the Government of Canada.

Government of Canada Investment for Ontario Aviation Firm

Peterborough, Ontario January 23, 2013.

Dean Del Mastro, Member of Parliament for Peterborough, on behalf of the Honourable Gary Goodyear, Minister of State for the Federal Economic Development Agency of Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) , announced an investment in Flying Colours Corporation.

“Our Government is committed to giving businesses and communities in Southern Ontario the tools they need to innovate and grow,” said Member of Parliament, Dean Del Mastro. “That’s why we continue to support companies like Flying Colours that are able to create jobs and compete and win in international markets.”

Flying Colours Corporation was established in 1989. The corporation is a global leader in all aspects of aircraft completions & maintenance. “Initially opened to accommodate a growing aircraft sales and leasing division in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, Flying Colours has grown into a leading aviation company”.

The Government of Canada has invested a $900,000 repayable contribution for the corporation to expand its facilities and acquire new technologies to service a growing number of business opportunities arising from the expansions of the Peterborough airport. This business expansion allowed Flying Colours Corporation to pursue Authorized Service Facility (ASF) status with Bombardier Aerospace.

Government of Canada invests in VC-Backed E-Commerce Firm

Guelph, Ontario January 21, 2013.

Michael Chong, on behalf of the Honourable Gary Goodyear, Minister of State for the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) announced its investment in the firm well.ca Inc.

“Our Government is committed to helping Southern Ontario companies expand and become industry leadership the global marketplace through innovation” said Michael Chong, “This investment will help create local jobs and support innovative technology that in turn will allow Canadian retailers to better complete for online consumers.”

well.ca Inc. is Canada’s largest online health, beauty and baby products store. Their goal is to offer the best e-commerce experience possible.

The Government of Canada has invested a $975,000 repayable contribution in the firm.
