Government Funding for Plywood Mill | Print |

July 6th, 2016 Miramichi, NB -

The Riverstone Plywood Mill located in New Brunswick will start up production again this fall.

The mill received assistance as funding from the Federal Government.

The owner of Riverstone Plywood Mill has told newspapers that although the mill had been idle for at least six years, the equipment had been tested in January and was in good shape. He said it would need minor retooling.

The mill harnesses a 63,000 cubic-meter Crown allocation while relying heavily on outside shipments in order to meet its raw fiber needs.

The province approved Riverstone Plywood Mill’s business and industrial plans.

The mill will employ around 45 direct staff when it re-opens, with the expectation that the number will increase to 100 or more.
